Città di Torino

Official website

The City of Turin has always been engaged in activities to support urban innovation, thanks to Torino City Lab, the City’s open-air innovation laboratory, and several projects financed with European and national funds.

Among these, CTE NEXT, the House of Emerging Technologies in Turin, aims to create a widespread technology center on 5G and emerging technologies applied to four strategic sectors: Smart Mobility, Urban Air Mobility, Industry 4.0 and Innovative Urban Services. Moreover, ToMove project, funded by the Department of Digital Transformation, to create an open laboratory focused on the development of new scenarios of smart and sustainable urban mobility, which use innovative cooperative, connected and autonomous mobility solutions, integrated in the «Mobility as a Service» paradigm.

The City of Turin, therefore, adheres with interest to the Impact Deal Project, committing itself to guide businesses in the use of free data of AperTo as well as to support them in co-designing use cases of urban interest by favouring access (where possible) to other specific datasets, such as urban mobility flows also thanks to the support of CTE-NEXT and ToMove partner.

WINDTRE

Official website

WINDTRE is an Italian network operator that offers connectivity, energy, and insurance products. Having been recognised as a ‘Top Employer’ for the fifth consecutive year in 2023, WINDTRE’s sustainability goals include the well-being and inclusion of individuals, the protection of the environment, and the creation of a safer digital environment for everybody. Through the ‘NeoConnessi’ project, dedicated to primary school children, the company has engaged with over one million students on the conscientious use of technology since 2018. In 2022, WINDTRE signed the ‘Borghi Connessi’ initiative to reduce the digital divide within small Italian municipalities caused by territorial, economic, cultural, and age factors.

WINDTRE will share with potentially matching startup O/D Origin-Destination matrices between areas/cities/locations/points of interest which are useful datasets for flow analysis in predefined areas, together with socio-demographic attributes.

Data Club Member:
Almawave

Official website

Almawave is an AI-based solution provider which enables the actionability of data from a broad range of sources, providing the most powerful combination of Location, Sentiment, and Market Intelligence datasets for any Point of Interest, brand, or territory worldwide. We use proprietary technology to process data drawn from non-traditional data sources.

Almawave has chosen to participate in the Data Club by making available:

  • POI Dataset: Data that measures specific aspects of the performance or digital positioning of a single Point of Interest (POI) present in a given geographic area. Each piece of information is geolocalised and traceable to a single POI detected in digital maps through specific geographic coordinates (lat/long). POIs are classified into 20 Industries and over 750 Categories of membership. For any further technical or methodology-related details, please refer to the following link: https://docs.datappeal.io/data-packs/poi-data-packs
  • Location dataset: Data that measures specific aspects of performance over time and/or the digital positioning of a specific geographic area (navigable through micro-zones, according to different levels of detail), based on the set of data detected on the Points of Interest (POI), combined with other sources. Each piece of information is geolocalised, thanks to digital maps, through specific geographic coordinates (lat/long). Regarding the territorial resolution: the reference standard is given by Bing Tile of level 13 (i.e. areas of 14 kmq in extension); in some cases, it is possible to obtain a greater granularity, up to tiles of level 18 (0.016 kmq). For any further technical details, please refer to the following link: https://docs.datappeal.io/data-packs/location-data-packs-1/technical-documentation.

Sella

Official website

Sella today is one of the largest and most independent banking groups in Italy. Sella Group believes that innovation is the fundamental tool for the sustainable development of territories and ecosystems.

Therefore, Sella has chosen to participate in the Data Club by making available (anonymised and discretised according to current privacy regulations and Sella regulations) a sample of information set as described below:

  • Descriptive data of customers snapshotted in the last 12 months (for each sample customer about 600 variables indicating possession, quantity and use of banking products);
  • Customer movements with indication of merchant category and description of the merchant;
  • Securities held in the investment portfolio of clients with relative ESG score (if available);
  • List of credit transfers (for renovation and eco-bonus).

Cuebiq

Official website

Cuebiq is a privacy-first geospatial data platform, providing access to first-party human mobility data, along with geospatial processing tools purpose-built for developing customized mobility analytics. Through its Workbench platform, users are able to access granular, yet privacy-preserving mobility data for analyses related to transportation planning, urban development, disaster response, public health, real estate analytics and other use cases.

The smartphone-derived mobility data within the platform is collected from smartphone applications where location is at the core of the app’s functionality, through a patented data collection methodology. This includes categories such as maps, navigation, weather, and geo-specific retail. All data is collected with the informed consent of fully anonymized users under GDPR and CCPA compliant frameworks. As part of the Cuebiq opt-in framework, users specifically provide consent for their anonymized location data to be used for research purposes. No personally identifiable data (PII) is collected.

In addition to fully anonymizing the device IDs of each user by utilizing an encrypted hash, the mobility data undergoes additional privacy protections by utilizing patented privacy enhancing technologies. Output datasets include device pings, clustered stops, origin-destination trajectories, and POI visits.

More information and details about the Open Data Hub Project can be found on the project website: https://opendatahub.com/

Open Data Hub collects and exposes more than 150 datasets distributed throughout Europe. The datasets can be grouped into the following domains:

  • Mobility: includes datasets about traffic conditions, public transportation information, parking status, eCharging stations status, bike and car sharing availability, etc.
  • Weather: includes datasets about weather forecasts, weather conditions, snow reports, etc.
  • Tourism: includes datasets about points of interest (e.g. museums, ski areas, etc.), events, activities (e.g. hikes, bike tours, etc.), lodging businesses, restaurants, etc.
  • Environmental: includes datasets about the pollutant emission monitored by the environmental stations.

The geographical distribution and the licensing differ for single datasets. A list of all datasets is available in the Data Browser: https://databrowser.opendatahub.com/
